Welcome to the Magic of Summer Sparrow!

Sparrow (also known as max) is a fourth year student at NSCAD University pursuing a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts. Both medium-less and abundant in them, Sparrow finds himself commonly in installation and sculptural based work, as well as photography and painting. As a queer and trans artist living in unceded Mi’kmak’i, Sparrow uses her creations as a voice – to speak up for herself, the community, and to bring serious material into the spotlight. He often cites his deeply emotional past in his artwork through intentional colours, textures, shapes, materials, and any which way to get across the message, while thought-provokingly including the present to transform the public’s perception.

Sparrow extends his creativity to music. She writes beautiful songs with fascinating musicality and passionate lyrics. Writing in a folksy/indie/acoustic style is what he does best, breaking down chord progressions to melodies, using her guitar as a duet partner in every song.
